The Junior High Choir will use elective class time to rehearse and prepare weekly All Mass music. Students will learn to sing in two/three-part harmonies in various styles of music. The choir also takes part in two yearly concerts, and various other singing events.
Students will have quiet work time to complete current work and/or get caught up on past work. Teacher assistance will be available. Missing assignments and low grades will be monitored.

We will investigate fingerprinting, fiber analysis, arson, trace evidence analysis, and blood samples. Students are taught the proper collection, preservation, and laboratory analysis of various samples. we will also discuss real cases and how the techniques we are learning helped solve the cases.
Learn to play music of various styles/genres while using an instrument every day of class. No experience is necessary and if you need an instrument one will be provided. The band will perform at two concerts per year and other events if available.
Using Lego Mindstorms robots, students will understand the basics of robot movements, sensors, and ports. Q1 and Q3
Using CUE and other robots, students will apply their knowledge of robots to other robot types. Q2 and Q4
Year B focuses on studying the hallmarks of good films and asking students to apply these techniques of short films they create.
Watching films and film clips would still be included in the curriculum for this course. Notice of the films we will be watching will be communicated to parents and alternative options will be given to any student/parent with concerns regarding content.
Students would be given a budget and family size to then plan a one-week Disney vacation complete with hotel, transportation, food, and entertainment. Either a slide presentation or video would be created to promote their trips.
Q1 & Q3 will learn some art history and see a slide show of famous portraits. We will learn terms used for the face when creating a portrait. Students will create a variety of portraits. Memory self-portrait in pencil, study from looking in the mirror or photograph. We will use different media such as pencil, markers, charcoal, clay, and paint.
Clay - Students will learn the techniques of clay building. They will make a clay piece based on what they learn. Students will be able to take home completed projects at the end.
Paper Mache/ Wire Sculptures - Students will learn the basics of how to make paper mache artwork. Students will learn how to construct armatures, apply paper mache paste, and decorate/paint their final product(s).
